Dr. Jan Catherine Carrera

Dr. Carrera is a board-certified internist based in Cebu City, with subspecializations in gastroenterology and hepatology. She completed her training in Gastroenterology at Chong Hua Hospital Cebu and Hepatology and Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Chinese University Hong Kong. Dr. Carrera specializes in the treatment of diseases affecting the esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas, and gallbladder. She has a particular interest in liver cirrhosis, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, liver cancer, and other liver-related disorders. Dr. Carrera performs both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) insertion, polyp removal or EMR, endoscopic hemostasis, rubber band ligation, and endoscopic sclerotherapy for varices. She also received advanced training for these procedures at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong. Additionally, Dr. Carrera offers the following services: preoperative risk assessment, medical clearance, fit-to-work certificates, and referrals for executive health check-ups.
